The head of the Egyptian Tourist Authority has scheduled meetings with Ivana Jelinic, the head of the Italian Federation of Associations of Travel and Tourism Enterprises (FIAVET). Jelinic has voiced her support for Egypt and the need to very clearly highlight that not only is Egypt safe for tourists, but that the events of Hurghada were that of an individual and have nothing to do with any larger plot or organization. Representing 2,500 Italian tourism agencies, representatives from Fiavet have agreed to come to Cairo to meet with the minister of Tourism on the 7th to the 9th of August to show the world their dedication to supporting Egypt and its significance as an international travel destination.
